Elder Jeffrey R. Holland gave an awesome devotional at BYU in 1999 with the title "Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence."

I was listening to it Sunday morning and have listened to it numerous times and I just love it and highly recommend it to anyone who is about to make a big decision in life or will sometime in the future (so everyone.)

Halloween Costume Pictures

Beware lots of pictures of me...

Hey peeps, I am up way too late and am exhausted, but I wanted to show off my Halloween costume. I got to wear it two days in a row and I was pretty excited about that! We had our work Halloween party on Thursday and then I went to a YSA Halloween dance on Friday night.

This is the way I wore it to work on Thursday. I made the skirt and I am really pleased with the way it turned out! Well I am happy with the whole outfit. :)

 This is me Halloween night before the dance.

 We have a life size cardboard cutout of Taylor Lautner at our house. We like to pull him out at Halloween and other such fun times. We put him outside the front door for the trick-or-treaters to enjoy and they loved him. Some took pictures with him and wanted to know where we got him. :)

The stockings I found to go with my awesome costume! They were originally socks but I cut off the feet so that the spiderwebs would be on the front. Happy Halloween! (And Happy November.)

Almost Queen

Almost Queen is an awesome Queen cover band. I saw them on Saturday night in Falls Church with one of my friends for her birthday and I was seriously in awe of their mad, mad singing, guitar, drumming and piano skills! They were highly entertaining and Queen songs rock! :)

Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I love to travel. Almost anytime I have the chance to travel, I do. My brother, Nate, and I had been talking about going to Boston for awhile, but no set plans were made. 

Nate called me up one day and said that he had bought a ticket to come out to Virginia so that we could drive to Boston (but he didn't realize that it was more than an 8 hour drive to there from here and he was only going to be here for a 3 day weekend.) Then he decided since we weren't going to be able to drive to Boston that he wanted to go to Nova Scotia, Canada instead. 

So we bought plane tickets to fly into Halifax, Nova Scotia for Friday through Sunday of Columbus Day weekend and then booked a rental car to drive to Cape Breton Highlands National Park from there. 

It was seriously the most perfect time to go. The colors were in their prime fall colorfulness and the weather was just lovely, in the 50s during the day.

We took a hike on the Skyline trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

We saw a moose just off of the trail and it was huge! There was a crowd gathering around it and although it didn't look aggressive at all, we didn't stay around for too long.

The trail took us about 2-1/2 hours to walk and it was gorgeous the whole way!

After the hike, we drove around the whole Cape and pretty much stopped at every scenic view point because it was just all so stunning!

Our whole drive around the cape and to and from Halifax was full of trees and the beautiful fall colors. We could not have gone at a better time. It was awesome! Thanks Nate for inviting your little sister to go with you to Canada. It was gorgeous!

Corsets

On Saturday, I went to the Renaissance festival in Maryland with some friends for my birthday. I wore a costume to the festival that required wearing a corset. Can I just say how uncomfortable it was? I had never worn a corset before and I didn't realize how tight it was supposed to be worn. I will say it was good for my posture, but I am so glad that we do not wear the type of clothes that requires wearing one every day. And yes I am sure I would get used to it if I had to but I sure am grateful for that not being the style now-a-days.

I now kind of understand how Keira Knightley felt in Pirates of the Caribbean when she fell off the cliff because she couldn't breathe because her corset was too tight. :)

 H, Here's the picture I said I would get of the corset.  It's not very comfortable or flattering.

I feel loved!

It's my birthday today and I feel loved! I've received phone calls and text messages and Facebook messages and gotten together with some friends and family in person to celebrate. I am grateful for my family and friends and I thank you for making me feel loved.
