Day 4- I woke up feeling pretty crappy this day. It was a Sunday, so we went to church and then I just rested and hung out with my family.
Day 5- Although I still wasn't feeling great (but a little better than the day before), K, L, J, B, A, and I went to Cologne this day. I really liked Cologne!
We went to the Lindt Chocolate Museum! It was awesome!
We learned a bit about the history of chocolate and also got some free samples. Three free samples in fact... and it was great. :)
Our first sample of chocolate was when we bought our tickets to go in.

A large chocolate fountain... where we got our second sample of chocolate. The worker had wafer cookies and put the wafers under the chocolate fountain and then gave them to us waiting in line.
This round conche was used in the process of making chocolate. I had L stand in front of it to show the size of the machine.
This machine was used in the wrapping of toblerones. :)
There was a mini factory in the museum where we could watch the process of making chocolate pieces.
This is also where we got our third sample of chocolate. We had to press a button and then the machine grabbed a piece of chocolate from the line up seen in the picture above and then brought it to us through a hole in the glass.
Seeing the process of chocolate making was pretty fascinating!

After the chocolate museum, we went to the Cologne Cathedral. It was a little less than a mile walk to the cathedral. Here are some scenes a long the way.

K and I took turns going into the cathedral. I went in first while she waited outside with the kiddos at this fountain. Then I watched the kiddos while she went in.

After we finished at the cathedral, it was time to go home. We walked a different way back to our car. We found a bakery and got pretzels and baguettes to tie us over until we got home.

I found the shape of these buildings fascinating! (Seen in the picture above this one too.)
The parking garage we parked at in Cologne was only one level but it was probably a mile long. It was under the city streets.
(We lost our ticket that we needed to get out of the garage and had to ask some random people for help. We couldn't see any workers around but the people we asked for help told us there was an office in the garage (we just couldn't see it since the garage was so big) that could help us with our lost ticket situation. We found the office and got it resolved and everything was fine.)
Overall I really liked Cologne! It was a cool city!
