The sunrise at Tikal gets its own post. We woke up at 3:30 Saturday morning so that we could get ready for a sunrise tour of the park. We met in the lobby of the hotel, which was completely dark since the electricity was not on at that hour of the morning. We all had flashlights with us but basically we just sat in the dark with a bunch of other people waiting for our tour to start.
As we walked the trail to the temple that we would be climbing to watch the sunrise, there was something beautiful and majestic about seeing the silhouette of the Mayan ruins against the star filled sky. And the sky was so clear and beautiful and we could see a numberless amount of stars. It was pretty spectacular! I didn't even attempt to take pictures for they would not have turned out.
This is what the sky looked like when we got to the top of the temple. Isn't it beautiful?!
Some of the crowd also watching the sunrise from the temple. There were a few different tour groups up there and I think a few people on their own.
Nate and I on top of the temple waiting for the sun to rise.
I loved that we could see the two temples popping up above the trees. And then eventually the sun rose in between them.
It's so picturesque!
How beautiful!
Here's the sun peeking up from the horizon. (That yellow circle above the sun did not actually exist but my camera kept on putting it there no matter what setting I used.)
Watching the sunrise in the wilderness, where as far as the eye can see there is nothing but nature, is a manifestation to me of the Lord's love for me and all of His children.

Absolutely spectacular. Totally agree with your very last sentence about this beauty being a manifestation of the Lord's love for us.
