The Evacuation!

Yesterday I was working at Kohl's and I was straightening the rugs, which kind of had a weird smell. Then a customer came over and said that it smelled like natural gas. (I realized that was actually what I was smelling, but I just thought it was the rubber on the bottom of the rugs that smelled.) We called the manager and she said that it definitely smelled like gas. The smell was all over the store and she decided that we needed to evacuate the store. The manager got on the intercom and told the customers that we needed to evacuate ASAP. She said that we could not ring people through the registers; we just had to get them out right then. Most people put their items on hold until they could come back.
After all of the customers were out, all of us employees had to get out too. We literally stood outside for an hour waiting for the Queststar guy to come and tell us what's wrong. He came and figured out where the leak was coming from and turned off the gas. Then all of us employees got to go back inside after the hour of waiting outside and continue working. It was actually pretty funny! The manager sent someone to get us all hot chocolate and needless to say it was an interesting night at work last night. (I hope this all makes sense.)

P.S. I hate Valentine's Day aka Singles Awareness Day aka Forced Affection Day aka It sucks when you don't have a date and everyone around you does day. That's all. Thanks for letting me vent:)

Sounds like a fun night at work. At least time goes faster and it is more interesting when something exciting and out of the ordinary happens. As long as nobody gets hurt and it wasn't overly dangerous

A little adrenaline flow every once in a while doesn't hurt.

Not too worry about Valentine's Day as a lot of singles share your feelings. Not too worry-your prince will soon appear and you won't have too many more lonely Valentine's Days,

Love, Dad-Mom

Well that's a fun way to spend a night at work. At least you got free hot chocolate out of it. :)
